About the Product

01
What is the Water Drop MARAI sensor?

The Water Drop MARAI is an IoT water quality monitoring sensor, developed by Chemical Inovação after more than 10 years of R&D and several registered intellectual properties.

It collects physical-chemical data in real time and transmits via IoT to the MARAI App, accessible from any smartphone or computer - no laboratory or manual sample collection required. The app also performs an integrated site assessment, factoring in surrounding environmental variables to contextualize results and support environmental decision-making.

02
What parameters does the sensor measure?

The Water Drop MARAI sensor continuously monitors the standard parameters:

  • pH - water acidity/alkalinity
  • DO (Dissolved Oxygen) - essential for aquatic life
  • EC (Electrical Conductivity) - indicator of dissolved solids
  • Temperature - directly influences all other parameters

The system is expandable through a plan upgrade or contract renewal to also include.

  • Contact our team to check the availability of expanded parameters for your sector.

03
Does the sensor require grid power?

No. The Water Drop MARAI Station can be powered by solar energy with an integrated backup battery - ensuring 24/7 operation even in remote locations, with no electrical infrastructure or civil works required.

This enables deployment in rivers, lakes, reservoirs, WWTPs, WTPs and water tanks without additional infrastructure cost.

04
Does the sensor need calibration? Who handles it?

Preventive maintenance and periodic calibration are included in the subscription plan. Our technical team performs scheduled site visits according to each sector's protocol.

Customers don't need to worry about spare parts, calibration or logistics - everything is managed by Chemical Inovação.

Service & Plans

05
What is the HAAS (Hardware as a Service) model?

In the HAAS (Hardware as a Service) model, the client pays a monthly subscription and receives the full monitoring service - without purchasing any equipment.

Included in the subscription:

  • Water Drop MARAI Station installed on-site
  • Access to the MARAI App (real-time data)
  • Automatic alerts per parameter
  • Technical reports delivered within 48 hours
  • Preventive maintenance and calibration
  • Specialized technical support
06
Do I need to buy any equipment to get started?

No. Under the HAAS model, all hardware (sensor, station, solar panels, IoT connectivity) belongs to Chemical Inovação and is provided to the customer through the subscription.

This eliminates high upfront investment in equipment and facilitates onboarding - especially for companies that need immediate compliance with environmental regulations.

07
How do I receive reports and technical analyses?

Technical reports are generated and delivered within 48 hours by e-mail, in PDF format signed by a qualified technical officer.

Raw data is also available in real time via the MARAI App, with complete history, charts and export. Automatic alerts are sent by e-mail or push notification when any parameter exceeds the configured threshold.

08
Can I cancel the subscription?

Subscription plans have a minimum commitment as per contract, which may vary by case.

Upon cancellation, our team retrieves the equipment from the site.

Installation & Technical

09
How long does installation take?

Installation of the Water Drop MARAI Station typically takes 1 to 2 business days, depending on the site and the number of monitoring points.

No civil works or electrical installations are required - the system is autonomous and uses its own mounting structure adapted to the environment (post, reservoir edge, riverbank, etc.).

10
Does the system work in remote areas without internet?

Yes. Connectivity is established via cellular network (4G/2G) or LoRaWAN, depending on local coverage. The sensor stores data locally if the signal is lost and syncs automatically when the connection is re-established.

For locations with very limited coverage, satellite solutions can be evaluated upon request.

11
Does the system comply with CONAMA 430 and ISO 14001?

Yes. The Chemical Inovação solution was designed to meet the requirements of CONAMA Resolution 430/2011 (effluent discharge standards) and supports compliance with ISO 14001 (environmental management systems).

The technical reports issued by Chemical Inovação are valid for submission to environmental regulatory agencies.

12
What is the MARAI App and how do I access my data?

The MARAI App is Chemical Inovação's digital platform, available on smartphone (iOS and Android) or via web browser. It shows:

  • Real-time data from all registered sensors
  • Historical charts by time period
  • Configurable alerts per parameter and threshold
  • History of issued reports and technical analyses
  • Environmental performance dashboard

Access is granted after subscription activation, with individual login and password.

13
Can I monitor more than one location at the same time?

Yes. The MARAI App supports multiple monitoring points under a single account. Each station is identified by name and location, and all data is centralized in the same dashboard.

Companies with facilities in different locations or municipalities can monitor all points simultaneously, with individual alerts per station.

Sectors Served

14
Which sectors does Chemical Inovação serve?

Chemical Inovação serves companies and organizations across the following sectors:

  • Industry - effluent control and regulatory compliance
  • Mining - watershed and tailings dam monitoring
  • Agribusiness - irrigation water quality and riparian zone rivers
  • Sanitation (WWTP/WTP) - process control and compliance
  • Labs & Education - environmental research and monitoring
15
Can the system be deployed in rivers, lakes and reservoirs?

Yes. The Water Drop MARAI Station is designed for deployment in open water bodies, including rivers, lakes, dams, reservoirs and irrigation canals.

The structure is adapted to the environment (floating, bank-mounted or bottom-anchored, as needed), and solar operation ensures autonomy even in hard-to-reach locations.
